Charging solution for electric vehicle. F.A.Q.

If you are considering acquiring an electric vehicle (E.V.)  with a charging solution, you must want to have a look at the following questions. In order to take a good decision, we detail here the most frequently asked questions by our users before getting their charge point.

  1. The different charging modes

The charging modes are linked to the level of communication between the vehicle and             the charge point. It is also linked to which kind of use is made by the user.  It is indeed possible to program it, to check the stages of charge, to stop it, to resume it or to reduce the intensity of the charge to regulate the electric consumption.

  1. What is a WallBox?

This term relates to a physical system that proportions the electric-supply to the electric vehicle plugged-in with a cable. This device is powered by an alternative power-supply in a single-phased mode or a three-phased mode that regroups numerous components to make the whole a complete charging system.

The WallBox or charging point is installed on the wall of your own garage where the electric installation is possible. The device receives the energy directly from home or the garage. Several types of protection are available with a WallBox such as a card reader or a pre-paid card system.

  1. How much does it cost to charge an electric car?

In Spain, there is a period of the day when it is cheaper to recharge. Here, between 1:00 am and 7:00 am, thetariff:“Voluntary price for small consumer” is usually the most economical one although the rate is not fixed. For the clients of this tariff, the Government fixes the rate and change it all over the year. For the other clients, it depends on their energy providers.

In any case, the cost of the charge depends on two factors: The contracted tariff, and the maximum capacity of the vehicle’s battery.

Usually, every kilowatt per hour has a changing price from 0.06€ at night to 0.15 during the day. To calculate it, you have to multiply the price of the kilowatt per hour with the number maximum of kilowatt that the battery can stock.

  1. EV tariff (SuperValle)

EV usersin Spain, can contract a special tariff names SuperValle. What is the price with this one? It depends on the hour of the day. In this case, the cost follows the contracted tariff with the following hours:

In Europe, the electric cars ‘autonomy is ruled by the NEDC (New European driving cycle). This system shows favorable results with the commercial register and this is why the autonomies approved by the organization are not the real ones. We can usually say that the real autonomy of an electric car represents 35% less than the accredited one.

  1. Can I install a charge point in a garage I share with other persons without asking for permissions?

Yes, in the condition that the manager of the propriety is aware of your initiative.

  1. Is it possible to get a fast-electric charge point at home?
